Shocking Bronx Shooting: 15-Year-Old Arrested After Fatal Gunfire Near Courthouse!
A 15-year-old boy is in police custody after he allegedly shot and killed a 29-year-old man near a Bronx courthouse on Wednesday afternoon.
Around 2:40 p.m., officers from the 44th Precinct were patrolling near East 161st Street and Morris Avenue when they saw the teenager pull out a gun and shoot at the man. The young shooter reportedly fired multiple shots, hitting the victim once in the chest.
After the shooting, the teenager ran away from the scene. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) quickly arrived and rushed the victim to Lincoln Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, the 29-year-old was later pronounced dead, according to the NYPD.
The officers who witnessed the shooting immediately gave chase and caught the teenager several blocks away, at East 156th Street and Courtlandt Avenue. They arrested him without further incident.
Authorities recovered a firearm at the scene, and investigations are ongoing. As of late Wednesday, the teenager had not been formally charged, though charges are expected.
