Wawarsing Man Arrested for Selling Crack Cocaine Released After Just 8 Days in Jail!

Kingston, NY – A 44-year-old man from Wawarsing, New York, is facing multiple charges related to the sale of crack cocaine in Ellenville and nearby areas.

The investigation into Latrell A. Perry began in June 2024, when police suspected him of being involved in drug sales.

The Ulster Regional Gang Enforcement Narcotics Team (U.R.G.E.N.T.) took the lead in investigating Perry, and after months of gathering evidence, they arrested him.

He was charged with three felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of criminal sale of a controlled substance. Perry was then indicted by an Ulster County Grand Jury on these serious charges.

At the time of his arrest, Perry was already in custody at the Ulster County Jail for an unrelated issue. The police processed him on these new charges, and he was arraigned in Ulster County Court on November 14, 2024.

After his arraignment, Perry was sent back to the Ulster County Jail, where he was held for just a few days.

On November 18, 2024, Perry was released from jail, despite the serious charges he faces. He is scheduled to return to court for a future hearing, where his case will continue.

Authorities are keeping a close watch on Perry, and the investigation into the local drug trade remains ongoing.

The release of Perry has raised questions about the justice system’s handling of suspects involved in drug-related crimes, as the community waits for further legal developments.
