NYPD Arrests Suspect in Thanksgiving Carjacking Involving 7-Year-Old Child!
Police have arrested a man accused of stealing a car with a 7-year-old boy inside during Thanksgiving in the Country Club area.
Authorities identified the suspect as 22-year-old Mohamed Sakho. He was taken into custody on Saturday at 12:40 p.m. near 250 Baychester Ave. for an unrelated robbery.
Investigators revealed that the incident began when the boy’s mother and her husband briefly left their car in front of their home on Mac Donough Place shortly after noon.
Sakho allegedly jumped into the vehicle and drove off, unaware that the child was in the backseat.
The stolen car was later found about three miles away, near Tillotson and Wright avenues. Thankfully, the boy was safe and unharmed, but the situation caused significant distress for the family.
Sakho now faces multiple charges, including robbery, grand larceny, kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, and abandonment of a child. Police are continuing their investigation into both incidents.
