Heartbreaking Story of 3-Year-Old Girl Hit by Reckless Moped Driver in NYC!

A tragic incident in New York City has left a 3-year-old girl with a fractured skull after a reckless moped driver struck her on a Bronx sidewalk and fled the scene.

Mylah Rojas was walking with her mother, Mariel, on Holland Avenue in Williamsbridge when the moped, with blue and black stripes, came speeding out of nowhere and struck the young girl around 1 p.m. on Friday.

According to Mylah’s mother, it all happened too quickly for her to react. “It was a regular day. We were just coming out of the building, and the scooter came out of nowhere, so fast,” Mariel told The Post. “He hit her and took her a couple of feet away.”

In the aftermath of the accident, the mother was initially in shock and focused on her daughter’s well-being, not realizing immediately that the driver had fled.

“I was so shocked that I didn’t realize [the moped driver] had left the scene. I was just concentrating on my daughter,” she said.

Mylah was left bleeding heavily, with blood everywhere and a split on her forehead. Her mother described the scene as overwhelming, with the little girl suffering from significant injuries, including a fracture near her left eye. Mylah’s left eye was also swollen shut.

Mylah was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where she is being treated for brain bleeding. Her condition remains serious, and her family is anxiously awaiting more test results.

“It’s something you don’t imagine happening ever. You just pray,” her mother said, clearly shaken by the accident.

Despite the severity of the injuries, there are signs of hope. Mariel reported that Mylah is doing “a little better today.” The young girl is active, sitting up, coloring, and talking, though she is still in considerable pain.

Her mother shared that Mylah has been complaining about her swollen eye, which remains shut, but overall, she remains a fighter.

As for the driver, he is described as wearing an orange jacket, black sweatpants, and black sandals during the crash. He left the scene quickly, limping away, possibly due to damage to the moped.

Later, surveillance footage revealed the suspect limping away from the area, though he no longer had the orange jacket. Police are now asking the public for help in identifying the suspect, as they search for answers.

Mylah’s family continues to hold onto hope, waiting for updates from the doctors while dealing with the emotional and physical toll of the accident.

The community is rallying behind the young girl and her family, hoping for a speedy recovery and justice for the heartless driver who left the scene without a second thought.

As the investigation continues, the public is urged to come forward with any information that could help authorities track down the driver and bring him to justice.
