Breaking News: Tren de Aragua Gang Members Taken into Custody in New York Over Aurora Crimes!

Two members of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, which has been tied to several violent events in Aurora, Colorado, were arrested in New York City, according to official sources.

The suspects, identified as Danyeer Aramillo Meneses, 23, and Edilson Pena Angulo, 25, were taken into federal custody on Tuesday night.

These arrests were confirmed by KDVR. The two men had been linked to a viral video showing armed individuals at an apartment complex in Aurora, which heightened concerns about the gang’s activities in the area.

Investigators from the Department of Homeland Security had been searching for the two suspects, who were wanted by Aurora police.

Both Meneses and Pena Angulo had been stopped by U.S. Border Patrol officers in 2023 after they illegally crossed the border. According to ICE, Pena was found in El Paso, Texas, on April 29, 2023, while Meneses was later encountered under similar circumstances.

After their arrests, they were placed in the custody of ICE, as reported by Denver7. ICE’s Steve Kotecki clarified that Pena had been given a notice to appear before authorities, but he was released on May 3, 2023, before being re-arrested in New York.

The gang’s connection to Aurora became more concerning after the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Oswaldo Jose Dabion Araujo.

Investigators found that the same rifle used in the shooting had been seen in the viral video. Additionally, Naudi Lopez-Fernandez, another individual linked to the incident, was arrested in October.

The Tren de Aragua gang has raised alarm in Aurora due to the increasing number of violent incidents, including shootings and assaults.

Some gang members have been arrested for crimes in other Colorado counties, such as Jefferson and Boulder.

Despite fears of the gang “taking over” the city, Aurora Police and local officials have dismissed these claims. However, the gang’s influence remains a significant concern due to the ongoing violent behavior associated with its members.
