Shocking: 17-Year-Old Boy Injured in School Shooting, Suspects on the Run!

The NYPD reported that a 17-year-old boy was shot near Clara Barton High School on Wednesday evening. The incident took place at 6:39 p.m. at the corner of President Street and Washington Avenue in Brooklyn.

Local parents told News 12 that a basketball game was happening nearby at Prospect Heights High School around 5:30 p.m. Just an hour later, their children heard multiple gunshots. Following the shooting, Clara Barton High School went into lockdown as a safety measure.

The teen was rushed to Kings County Hospital, where doctors confirmed he was in stable condition.

News 12 contacted the Department of Education (DOE) for a statement, but no response has been received yet.

Police say five suspects are still at large, and they are actively investigating the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the NYPD.
