A Man from Schenectady has been charged with federal narcotics and weapon offenses

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York (NDNY) said that a Schenectady man has been charged with federal narcotics and firearms offenses following several alleged occurrences in 2023 and 2024.

James Alvin Boone, 29, was charged in writing on Thursday with the following offenses: distribution of a controlled substance, possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.

In addition to carrying a weapon on July 28, 2023, Boone was found in possession of cocaine with the intention of distributing it, as stated in the indictment.

In addition, Boone was accused in the indictment of conspiring to distribute cocaine and fentanyl between January 14, 2023, and March 25, 2024, the date on which he was charged with a federal complaint and placed under arrest.

Additionally, according to the prosecution, Boone was in possession of cocaine and fentanyl on March 25 with the intention of distributing the drugs. He really did distribute fentanyl three times between December 6, 2023, and February 8, 2024.

An announcement states that the indictment calls for the forfeiture of the handgun, jewels valued at around $40,000, and over $27,000.

Boone faces a required minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, a maximum sentence of life, and a fine of up to $10 million for the accusations.
