Man and lady died in Van Nuys after being hit by a train

On June 12, an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train in Van Nuys killed a man and a woman. Their identities were revealed on Wednesday.

The victims of the crash were identified by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office as Bunny Martinez, 39, and Jessie Lopez, 26.

The collision was reported on Sunday at 9:29 p.m. east of 7600 Woodman Ave., according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Both individuals were pronounced deceased at the scene, according to Humphrey.

The individual stated that there were no more injuries that were recorded, and that none of the passengers or crew members on board the train required medical help.

According to Humphrey, the train stayed halted at the location so that the investigation could be conducted.
