Man dies in San Jose during a heat wave

According to Mayor Matt Mahan and police on Wednesday, a man in San Jose passed away during a heat wave in the Bay Area.

Just before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, San Jose police went to a report of a male who had been found deceased, according to NBC Bay Area. There were no indications of foul play, they continued.

“The heat killed our homeless neighbor yesterday on our streets. We’re working quickly to build enough basic, respectable shelter for everyone since this was an avoidable tragedy and it is inhumane to leave people in dangerous, uncontrolled situations. Please help us spread the word that we will be keeping our cooling centers up late through July 9th.”

The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office is looking into the event, according to San Jose police.

No other information was made public.
