A Trucker found a miracle baby on the side of the road! It lived through two days of Hurricane Beryl by itself

In America, a one-year-old infant spotted crawling by the side of the road survived two days of severe weather.

The “miracle baby,” according to a Louisiana sheriff, was discovered by a truck driver who was walking by the side of the road the day after his mother was taken into custody in Mississippi and his four-year-old brother was discovered dead.

The infant appeared to be in excellent condition overall, but it had multiple bug bites, according to Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Gary “Stitch” Guillory.

At a news conference in Lake Charles, some 200 miles (322 km) west of New Orleans, Mr. Guillory stated that autopsy reports for the four-year-old who was discovered on Monday were still pending.

The corpse was discovered in a lake close to the Texas state line, beside an Interstate 10 welcome center.

The four-year-old was last seen on Saturday with his mother, Aaliyah Jack, 25, of Lake Charles, and the one-year-old, according to information obtained by the authorities looking into his death.

Authorities were ready to check the water where the dead youngster was discovered on Tuesday morning, fearing the one-year-old was dead. The youngster was then spotted by a truck driver who dialed 911.

“Because he was still alive, we consider this one-year-old to be our miracle baby,” Mr. Guillory stated.

After Hurricane Beryl made landfall in east Texas early on Monday, bands of heavy rain and strong gusts of wind were experienced during the child’s search.

Mr. Guillory remarked, “This kid spent two days out in the weather on the side of the highway.” “I’m so glad the trucker saw him.”

On Monday night, Ms. Jack was taken into custody in Meridian, Mississippi, which is located around 350 miles (563 km) away from the location of her children. She was scheduled for extradition to Louisiana, where she will be prosecuted for neglecting to report a kid missing. According to Mr. Guillory, a court in Louisiana had set bond at $300,000.

Sheriff’s spokesperson Kayla Vincent stated that as of Wednesday afternoon, no additional charges were pending and that the investigation was still ongoing.

On Wednesday, there were no online booking records accessible. It was unclear whether Jack had a lawyer who could speak for her.

After raging over the Caribbean and Mexico, Beryl made landfall in Texas on Monday as a Category 1 hurricane. She has since caused extensive floods, power outages, and infrastructure damage.

Hurricane Beryl is believed to have killed at least seven people in the Houston area, according to county and city officials. Ten fatalities occurred in the Caribbean earlier.
