Miami Barber Arrested in CHILD PORN Investigation With Over 8,000 IMAGES FOUND ON PHONE
An 18-month investigation into the uploading of child pornography resulted in the arrest of a Miami man who was reportedly texting girls on social media, according to authorities.
Junior Del Villar Hernandez, 39, was arrested Wednesday on 15 counts of possessing materials for sexual performance by a kid, according to Miami Police. The inquiry began in September 2022, when 15 recordings depicting child sexual abuse were posted to a Gmail account, according to police.
The “extremely disturbing” tapes included sexual actions on youngsters as young as two, according to investigators.
Detectives “chased many misleading leads” during the investigation before identifying Hernandez as the culprit, according to authorities.
Investigators also discovered that he had been texting minor females on social media, police said. A search warrant was executed, and officers reported finding thousands of photographs of child pornography on Hernandez’s phone.
“The initial 15 photographs we distributed in the press release were only a small cache. Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales stated that investigators just discovered over 8,000 photographs on his cell phone alone.
Hernandez was taken into custody before being put into jail.
The case was handled by detectives from Miami Police’s Special Victims Unit’s Internet Crimes Against Children division.
“It doesn’t just end with sharing all the photographs. “We know it leads to deeper, darker, and more criminal things,” Morales stated. “In this case, they’ve been after this person, this pedophile, since 2022. They encountered numerous barriers, but they were determined to catch this guy, and no obstacle was insurmountable.
Hernandez rented barbershop premises in Edgewater. He lives in a Miami apartment where neighbors did not appear surprised by the charges.
“It was crazy because I was talking about him earlier because I have a coworker that lives there as well, he says he’s creepy,” a woman told me.
Police say they are still looking for potential victims.
“The Miami Police Department takes any crime against infants/children seriously and will work tirelessly to identify and bring to justice those who engage in such acts against innocent and helpless children,” the department’s press release stated. “Therefore, if you believe you were a victim targeted by Hernandez, we urge you to come forward.”
