MAN SHOOTS WOMAN, THEN HIMSELF After Argument at Lancaster Home, Authorities Report

A man is in critical condition after allegedly fatally shooting a woman in Lancaster early Sunday and attempting suicide, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The duo were only identified as male and female Hispanic adults. According to a statement made by the Sheriff’s Department on Sunday, the guy accosted the woman at another man’s Lancaster house. The suspect fired one round into the home, but no one was harmed.

According to the department’s statement, the suspect and the woman, “who is believed to be an estranged couple,” departed the home in the woman’s vehicle. They got into a fight and stopped the car at East Avenue H and Challenger Way in Lancaster.

They stepped out of the vehicle at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday and continued to argue. According to the statement, the suspect shot and killed the woman before driving away in her vehicle, leaving her body behind.

The suspect went to Palmdale at 2:09 a.m. and shot himself inside the victim’s vehicle outside the home of a family member, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The suspect was treated for an apparent gunshot wound at a local hospital. He was in critical condition on Sunday evening, according to a sheriff’s official. The representative stated that no other information regarding the incident, including the suspect and victim’s identification, would be provided at this time.

The Sheriff’s Department stated that homicide investigators were still looking into the incident.
