Hyattsville Police Detain Teen With Gun in Mall Food Court, Ensuring Safety After Incident!
Hyattsville Police Department (HPD) officers arrested at the Mall at Prince George’s after a teen was found with a gun. The incident took place in the food court of the mall, located at 3500 East-West Highway.
According to a post by HPD on X, around 4:30 p.m., an officer on duty became suspicious that the teen was carrying a firearm. The officer quickly took action, detaining and arresting the young suspect. A search confirmed that the teen had a gun in their possession.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported related to the incident. HPD officials conducted a thorough check of the area and assured the public that the mall was safe following the arrest.
