33-Year-Old Maurice Steward Faces Attempted Murder Charges in Capital Region Shooting!

A 33-year-old man from the Capital Region is in serious legal trouble after a shooting incident earlier this summer left a teenager severely injured. Maurice Steward from Albany is facing multiple felonies, including second-degree attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

The incident took place on July 9, when Steward and another man got into a heated argument at a home on Second Avenue. The argument escalated, leading Steward to leave the scene. However, he returned shortly afterward with a pistol. In a shocking turn of events, Steward shot a 19-year-old male in the foot.

The teen was left struggling to walk following the shooting. After the incident, Steward fled the scene but was quickly apprehended by police at a residence on Myrtle Avenue.

Following his arrest, Steward was taken into custody, and a judge has set his bail at $150,000 in cash. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to handle the legal proceedings.
