Clifton Park Teen Arrested After Making Serious Threat Against Queensbury High School!

Clifton Park teenager has been arrested for allegedly making a threat of mass harm against Queensbury High School.

The arrest, which took place on Sunday, was carried out by the State Police with assistance from the Albany Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Joint Terrorism Task Force.

According to the authorities, the teen, whose identity has not been released due to their age, faces multiple charges in connection with the threat.

The charges include making a terroristic threat, second-degree criminal impersonation, and making a threat of mass harm.

The situation came to light after State Police received a report on Saturday that a threat of mass harm had been made on social media, specifically targeting Queensbury High School.

Investigators later determined that the 15-year-old from Clifton Park allegedly accessed another person’s social media account and posted the threat.

This discovery led to the teen’s arrest at their home. Despite the serious nature of the incident, the teen does not attend Queensbury High School.

Following the arrest, the teen was issued an appearance ticket and will be required to return to Saratoga County Family Court. In the meantime, the teenager has been released to the care of their guardian.

In response to the situation, the Queensbury School District released a statement reassuring the community about the safety of its students.

The statement emphasized the cooperation between the school district, the State Police, and the FBI, saying, “The State Police, in collaboration with the FBI, worked on this case until late Sunday night.

Police have assured the district that there is no reason to be concerned for the safety of the students.”

The district also expressed its appreciation for the swift action taken by law enforcement. “We appreciate our partnership with the State Police, FBI, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.

The safety of our students is imperative. As always, if you see something, say something,” the statement read.

The arrest has sparked conversations about the growing concerns surrounding threats made on social media and the importance of taking such incidents seriously, even if they are not directly linked to students within a school district.

Law enforcement continues to stress the significance of reporting any suspicious activity, particularly in school environments where the safety of students is a priority.

The investigation into this particular threat remains ongoing, and further details about the case have not yet been released.

Authorities have not provided any additional information regarding the identity of the individual whose social media account was used to post the threat, nor have they shared whether any other individuals were involved in the incident.

While the situation has been resolved with the teen’s arrest, the community remains vigilant. School officials and law enforcement are working closely to ensure that safety protocols are upheld and any potential threats are dealt with quickly and efficiently.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of being cautious online and the serious consequences that can follow from making threats, even if they are made under pretenses or through impersonation.

Schools across the region are reinforcing their commitment to safety and reminding students and families to report any concerns they may have.
