Breaking: 5 Suspects Arrested in Clark County for Running Multi-State Muscle Car Theft Network!

Authorities in Clark County have arrested five individuals, including one juvenile, in connection with a large-scale muscle car theft ring spanning multiple states.

The investigation, which lasted several months, resulted in the recovery of stolen vehicles, firearms, and large amounts of cash.

Officials have now charged the suspects with multiple felonies, marking a significant victory for law enforcement in the region.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began in June after the office received tips about a group targeting high-end muscle cars.

These criminals would break into dealerships that specialized in high-performance vehicles, focusing on models like Dodge Hellcats and Chevy Corvettes. These cars are not only rare but highly valuable, making them prime targets for theft.

In addition to dealership thefts, the group was also accused of recruiting people to scout out privately owned muscle cars. These scouts would locate these cars, and then the ring would steal them.

The vehicles were either sold as a whole or stripped for parts, allowing the thieves to make a profit. This strategy made it difficult for authorities to track the stolen cars, as the parts could be easily moved across state lines.

Over four months, law enforcement officers recovered 11 stolen cars in Vancouver. Some of these vehicles had been taken from locations as far away as San Francisco and Bellingham, highlighting the interstate nature of the operation. The total value of the recovered vehicles is estimated to be around $700,000.

But it wasn’t just the stolen cars that were seized. Detectives also recovered nine firearms and a safe that contained $36,000 in cash, all of which were tied to the suspects.

According to officials, this sum was owned by one of the individuals arrested during the investigation, further underscoring the scale of the criminal enterprise.

This case in Clark County is linked to a similar investigation in Multnomah County. In that case, a 21-year-old named Aric Adams was arrested by Multnomah County Sheriff’s deputies as the suspected leader of a separate car theft operation.

Although the two groups operated independently, investigators believe they may have collaborated or communicated at some point. Sergeant Chris Skidmore of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office mentioned that there were clear signs of communication between the Vancouver-based group and Adams’ operation.

The operation in Multnomah County gained attention thanks to the help of local volunteers from PDX Stolen Cars, a community group focused on recovering stolen vehicles.

Their assistance was crucial in tracking down a $70,000 Chevy Corvette, which had been stolen from a dealership.

All five individuals arrested in Clark County now face serious felony charges. Among the charges filed were possession of a stolen motor vehicle, first-degree trafficking of stolen property, vehicle theft, forgery, and burglary.

The arrests mark the conclusion of months of hard work by multiple law enforcement agencies and signal a warning to other theft rings operating in the region.
