She was charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. According to police, Garcia-Gonzalez was driving a car that had been reported stolen from the city of Watervliet.

The stolen car was valued at more than $3,000. Garcia-Gonzalez was later arraigned and released on her recognizance, meaning she was not required to post bail but is expected to return for future court proceedings.
