Breaking: NYPD Seeks Tips in Ongoing NYC ATM Theft Spree!

The New York Police Department (NYPD) is asking the public for assistance in locating suspects involved in a string of ATM thefts across New York City.

The thieves have been active since June 2, targeting small businesses in Brooklyn and Manhattan.

According to officials, this group of criminals is linked to at least 20 separate incidents.

They have been focusing on stealing ATMs from various spots, including bodegas, pizzerias, and other small businesses, making away with the machines filled with cash.

“They cut the ATM right out of the floor and took it,” said Joe Colotta, the owner of Franklin Pizza in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Franklin Pizza was one of the recent targets in this citywide theft spree.

Joe Colotta mentioned that the suspects entered his pizza shop late at night on September 20.

The thieves managed to steal the ATM, even though it was secured to the ground and weighed several hundred pounds. “I can’t believe they did it,” said Colotta. “I don’t know how they got it out so fast.”

Just two hours after this incident, the suspects struck again at another location in East New York, Brooklyn.

Their quick movements and ability to target multiple businesses in one night have concerned both the police and the local community.

The NYPD reports that the suspects usually break through front doors or cut open security gates to access these businesses.

Fortunately, no one has been hurt during any of these robberies, but the suspects are still at large. The authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
