Dennis D. Parson, a 20-year-old resident of Buffalo, has been sentenced to 22 years in state prison for the killing of Jaylan McWilson.

This decision comes from the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office, which confirmed that Parson’s sentencing took place on Tuesday in County Court.

After serving his prison term, Parson will also undergo five years of post-release supervision.

The tragic incident occurred on January 21, 2023, in Niagara Falls. McWilson, who was 24 years old at the time, was found outside his home.

Authorities have stated that the situation appeared to be a robbery attempt that ended in violence.
