Shocking Double Murder at Redland Plant Nursery: Suspect Reveals Chilling Motive!
A Miami man is facing serious charges after authorities say he shot and killed two men at a plant nursery in Redland on Sunday evening.
The suspect, Eric Jose Garcia, 35, now faces two counts of second-degree murder in connection with the shooting, which took place at the nursery located on Southwest 240th Street.
Police were called to the scene just after 5 p.m., where they encountered Garcia, who openly admitted to the officers that he had shot and killed two individuals.
The victims, identified as 53-year-old Juan Miguel Menjivar and 40-year-old Jose Wilian Galdamez Menjivar, were found dead at the location when officers arrived.
According to Garcia’s account, the incident began when he was driving his pickup truck on a dirt road within the nursery’s property and came upon Galdamez Menjivar’s truck, which was blocking his path.
Garcia told police he parked his truck, exited the vehicle, and immediately shot both men.
The victims attempted to flee, but Garcia chased them, firing at them repeatedly as they tried to escape.
In his statement to the police, Garcia claimed that he had asked Galdamez Menjivar to move the truck, but the victim refused.
Garcia said that the situation escalated when both victims approached his truck, holding beer bottles. At one point, he stated that Juan Miguel Menjivar struck his truck’s hood with a beer bottle.
Garcia told officers that he felt threatened as both men got too close to the open driver’s side door of his truck. He admitted that he intended to execute them, ensuring that both were dead.
The report also mentioned that a witness had observed the entire incident, providing further evidence of the events that took place.
