Miami Twin Death Case: Mother’s Manslaughter Trial Put on Hold Again!
The manslaughter trial of Shirlene Alcime, a Miami mother accused of killing her twin toddlers in February, has been delayed once again.
Originally set to go to trial in December, the case has now been postponed following a request from the Miami-Dade state prosecutor’s office.
State Prosecutor Natalie Snyder asked for another continuance due to missing police reports crucial to the case. She informed Judge Ellen Venzer that until these reports are provided, the trial cannot proceed as planned.
The absence of these documents is causing delays in moving forward with the trial preparation, which includes depositions that are yet to be conducted.
Shirlene Alcime’s defense attorney, Lauren Dawson, stated that she cannot carry out multiple depositions without access to the necessary police reports.
