Shocking: NY Driver with 26 Suspensions Arrested After Drunk Driving Crash!
A 20-year-old man from Evans Mills, New York, is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving under the influence and crashing both a Ford F-150 truck and an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) into a reservoir early Thursday morning.
The suspect, who has a staggering 26 prior license suspensions, was arrested at the scene after showing signs of intoxication.
The incident occurred near Route 32 and Route 143 in Coeymans, Albany County when deputies from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office discovered debris on the road and followed the trail to a damaged guardrail.
Upon closer inspection, they found the truck and ATV fully submerged in the Alcove Reservoir. Local authorities, assisted by the Coeymans Hollow Volunteer Fire Corp, helped recover the vehicles from the water.
According to police reports, the suspect was spotted walking along the road in wet clothes, which raised suspicions.
Further investigation revealed that the man’s driver’s license had been suspended numerous times prior, with ten separate suspension dates. Despite these suspensions, the man continued to drive, leading to a dangerous crash into the reservoir.
The suspect now faces charges that include driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation, a serious offense in New York State, particularly given his extensive history of driving violations. He is scheduled to appear in court in November.
The incident adds to a growing concern over impaired driving in the state. According to reports, impaired driving arrests in New York have seen fluctuations over recent years, but the state continues to crack down on individuals who repeatedly offend.
