Breaking: Man Charged with Murder After Deadly Mott Haven Stabbing!
A 51-year-old man, Juan Boria, was fatally stabbed on Saturday evening in Mott Haven, Bronx, with police arresting the suspect hours later.
According to the NYPD, officers responded to a distress call at East 149th Street and 3rd Avenue around 7 p.m.
Upon arrival, they found Boria suffering from stab wounds to his stomach. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.
Authorities quickly apprehended and charged 52-year-old Robert Brent in connection with the incident.
Brent faces charges of murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon. However, police have not yet provided further details regarding the circumstances that led to the fatal encounter.
Residents of the area expressed concern over the safety of the neighborhood, with one local, Paez Melarejo, describing the area as dangerous and prone to violent incidents. Melarejo shared, “I see people fighting and getting stabbed; it’s crazy out here and it’s really sad”
Investigations into the motive behind the stabbing are ongoing as police continue to piece together the events of the tragic evening.
