Tragedy in NYC: 18-Year-Old Fatally Shot Multiple Times in the Face, Says NYPD!

LONGWOOD, The Bronx (PIX11) — An 18-year-old man tragically lost his life after being shot multiple times in Longwood, The Bronx, on Monday evening, the New York Police Department (NYPD) has confirmed.

The incident occurred around 7:04 p.m. in front of 961 Rev James Polite Avenue. Police responded to reports of gunfire in the area and discovered the victim, identified as Joshua Sparrow, suffering from gunshot wounds to his head and torso.

Sparrow was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

According to initial witness reports, several individuals were seen fleeing the scene after the shooting, prompting a manhunt.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have yet to determine a motive behind the shooting.

Witnesses who were present at the scene described the chaos that ensued after the gunfire. “We heard shots and saw people running,” said a resident, who wished to remain anonymous. “It was terrifying.”
