Engelmayer ordered Hernandez to be detained for at least two weeks, citing multiple instances of misconduct, including failing drug tests and unauthorized travel.
During the court proceedings, Hernandez appeared before Judge Engelmayer, who expressed concerns about what he described as a “pattern of noncompliance” with the terms of his release.
The rapper was apprehended at the Manhattan federal courthouse under a warrant issued by the judge, who noted that Hernandez had previously been arrested in the Dominican Republic on domestic violence charges and faced additional allegations of assaulting a local music producer in October 2023.
Hernandez’s defense team argued that he had not intentionally violated any terms of his parole. In court, he addressed the judge informally, stating, “I’m not a bad person,” and acknowledged arriving late to the hearing.
He claimed that he had completed four-and-a-half years of a five-year supervised release term without significant issues but admitted to some “technically” wrong actions. The rapper emphasized that he believed he had been “squeaky clean” otherwise.
Judge Engelmayer highlighted Hernandez’s unauthorized trip to Las Vegas in September as a key violation and noted that he had left the Dominican Republic earlier this year against court orders.

Hernandez’s legal troubles have been ongoing since his guilty plea in 2019 related to his involvement with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods gang, where he was accused of orchestrating acts of violence.
