Breaking News: Schenectady Man Arrested After Police Chase on Thruway!

New York Man was arrested Monday evening after a high-speed chase on the New York Thruway. Nashaan Howard, 40, faces several charges, including multiple drug-related charges and traffic violations.

The incident began around 7:30 p.m. when New York State Troopers attempted to pull Howard over on the Thruway near Bethlehem, New York. Instead of stopping, Howard continued driving, leading the Troopers on a high-speed chase.

The pursuit lasted several miles before Troopers managed to deploy a tire deflation device, which forced Howard’s vehicle to come to a stop on the Thruway in Albany. During the chase, Howard was allegedly seen throwing items out of the vehicle, which raised suspicions among law enforcement.

After the chase ended, Troopers conducted a thorough investigation. They reportedly found that Howard had discarded more than two kilograms of packaged cocaine from his car. As a result, he now faces several serious charges, including:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
  • Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence
  • Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in the Third Degree
  • Numerous Vehicle and Traffic Violations

Following his arrest, Howard was taken to the Albany County Correctional Facility, where he awaited arraignment. He was arraigned on Wednesday and remains held without bail at the Albany County Correctional Facility.
