Delmar Weekly Police Blotter: Retail Theft Leader Charged in New Larceny Case!
CLIFTON PARK – Police recently arrested Myunique D. McQueen, a 21-year-old from Albany, for her role in a series of retail thefts across the Capital District. On October 24, Saratoga County Sheriff’s deputies took McQueen into custody on a warrant from Clifton Park Town Court. The charges, which include third-degree grand larceny, allege that McQueen stole over $3,000 in merchandise from a Kohl’s store in Clifton Park on April 21.
McQueen was brought before Judge Robert A. Rybak, who ordered her held on bail. Currently, she remains in Albany County Jail on other charges. The authorities believe she and two other Albany residents, Winter Vandross, 19, and Zamaria Williams, 22, have collectively stolen more than $78,000 worth of goods from retailers like Kohl’s, LensCrafters, and Ulta Beauty.
This estimated loss doesn’t include additional thefts amounting to $36,000 from stores in Saratoga and Albany Counties. According to investigations, most of the stolen items were sold on platforms like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist.
Williams Faces Further Charges – Williams has additional charges for theft and other crimes. In February, she was involved in a theft at a Walmart in Bethlehem, which led to a police chase and a car crash. She was initially released with an appearance ticket but failed to attend court in March.
While Williams has been arraigned on several charges, including petit larceny and conspiracy, current state laws prevent the judge from setting bail on her Bethlehem charges. She’s scheduled to appear in court again on November 6.
As of now, three of the eight suspects identified by local news outlets are in custody, two of whom are serving sentences for other offenses.
