Shocking Arrest: Serial Shoplifter Linked to Over 100 Thefts in San Jose!

A man from San Jose has been arrested in connection with 113 thefts from stores around the city, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Johnny Pena, 41 years old, was taken into custody on October 28 after police accused him of stealing merchandise worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Some of the stores impacted by his alleged thefts include major retailers such as The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and Target.

San Jose Police Chief Paul Joseph commented on the case, saying it reflects a serious disregard for the law.

He pointed out that Pena has victimized more than a hundred businesses in San Jose.

Chief Joseph praised the work of the Organized Retail Theft Detail, highlighting their efforts in bringing suspects like Pena to justice for their crime sprees.

The investigation that led to Pena’s arrest was supported by a significant $8.4 million grant awarded to the police department by the California Board of State and Community Corrections.

This funding has been instrumental in enhancing the department’s ability to combat organized retail theft effectively.

Pena is currently facing charges of grand theft and is being held without bail at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.

His arrest sends a strong message about the consequences of such criminal behavior in the community, reassuring residents and business owners that the police are actively working to keep San Jose safe from serial offenders.
