In a dominating display of basketball prowess, the Atwater High girls’ basketball team secured a resounding 74-48 victory over Pioneer in the Northern California Regional Division III playoffs. The Falcons, seeded eighth, continued their impressive run at Falcon Arena, extending their flawless home record to 11-0 for the season.

Executing a strategic game plan, Atwater utilized a relentless full-court press against Pioneer, a team with just eight players. Coach JR Davis emphasized the importance of pressuring and wearing down their short-handed opponents, particularly focusing on Pioneer’s Madison Fujii, who played a significant role for them.

Despite Fujii’s commendable 25-point contribution, Atwater dominated the second quarter, outscoring Pioneer 17-4 and establishing a comfortable 36-18 lead.
