Heartbreaking Discovery: Body of Missing 5-Year-Old Found in Oregon Search!

Authorities have confirmed the discovery of the body of 5-year-old Joshua McCoy, a boy with autism who went missing over the weekend.

The Coos County Sheriff’s Office released a statement sharing the sad news, stating, “It is with immense sadness that we have to report that missing Joshua McCoy has been found deceased.”

Joshua had gone missing from his home in Hauser, Oregon, on Saturday. The sheriff’s office reported that he had been napping with his mother in the afternoon, but when she awoke around 5:30 p.m., Joshua was nowhere to be found.

Drones, K-9 units, and additional resources from state and federal agencies were utilized to help locate Joshua.

On Tuesday, the sheriff’s office shared that Joshua’s body had been discovered approximately 1.6 miles away from his home at around 12:30 p.m. local time.

Authorities remain cautious about the circumstances surrounding his death. “Nothing is being ruled out at this time as we are considering all possible avenues,” stated the Coos County Sheriff’s Office in an update released earlier.

The loss of Joshua has struck the community deeply. His sixth birthday was approaching on Saturday, adding further sorrow to the tragedy.
