The County Department of Animal Services has clarified that their enforcement approach does not always involve seizing animals immediately. Instead, they follow a graduated response based on the severity of complaints.
Officers have previously interacted with Barkley about her dogs and even provided spay-neuter services. As of April 2023, Barkley was reportedly in compliance with the county’s dog ownership limits. Furthermore, officials stated that Barkley is not registered as a dog breeder.
