4 Arrested in Colonie Gun Store Heist: Suspects and Missing Firearms Update
A New Lebanon man is among four people arrested in connection with a burglary at a Colonie gun store last week. Colonie Police received an alarm from New York Shooter Supply, located at 1593 Central Avenue, on November 14 at 2:03 a.m. Responding officers discovered the store had been broken into, and multiple firearms were stolen. No suspects were found at the scene.
Law enforcement, including federal, state, and local agencies, collaborated to identify and apprehend the suspects. By November 21, police had arrested four individuals and recovered seven of the 14 stolen firearms.
The first arrest was Paul Gervasio, 37, of New Lebanon, who was allegedly the driver of the getaway vehicle. The other suspects include William Moses, 48, of Albany; Nicole January, 43, of Latham; and Dante Chisholm, 50, of Troy.
Gervasio and Moses face charges of criminal possession of a weapon, burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief. January faces misdemeanor charges, including possession of stolen property and endangering the welfare of a child. Chisholm was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor.
The investigation is still ongoing, and police are working to locate the seven remaining firearms. In a related effort to ensure public safety, New York State Police are intensifying their traffic enforcement for the Thanksgiving holiday. This initiative targets unsafe driving behaviors such as distracted driving and driving under the influence. State Police have deployed unmarked Concealed Identity Traffic Enforcement (CITE) vehicles and set up sobriety checkpoints across the state.
During the 2023 Thanksgiving period, troopers arrested 178 drivers for DWI and issued thousands of tickets for speeding and distracted driving. Motorists are reminded to plan, use ride-sharing services, or designate a sober driver to avoid dangerous and costly consequences.
The public is encouraged to use the “Have a Plan” app, available on major smartphone platforms, to locate transportation options, learn about DWI laws, and report suspected impaired drivers. State Police emphasize the importance of making safe choices to prevent accidents and ensure a safe holiday for everyone.
