A 5-year-old foster child in Nebraska perishes after being abandoned in a heated SUV

After being left inside a heated SUV for several hours, a 5-year-old foster child from Nebraska passed away, and his foster mother is now being prosecuted.

At 5:11 p.m. on Wednesday, police were called to the parking lot of a beauty salon. The Omaha World-Herald was informed by Lt. Neal Nonacci that someone had seen the youngster and called the police. After being brought to a hospital, the youngster was declared dead.

According to the police announcement, “it appears that the child was left unattended inside of a vehicle for an extended period of time.”

On Thursday, the Omaha-based Juanita Piñon, 40, who was the boy’s foster mother, was taken into custody and accused of killing a child through neglect. It wasn’t immediately apparent if she had legal representation. Her home phone number was unanswered when contacted.

Approximately one hour before to the child’s discovery, the temperature in Omaha reached its highest point of 86 degrees Celsius.(News Source)
