Albany Man Faces 15 Years Behind Bars for Gunpoint Robbery of Marijuana Dealer!
An Albany man has been sentenced for his involvement in a dramatic armed robbery of a marijuana dealer. Jorge Rosario, aged 54, was handed a 15-year and eight-month prison sentence by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ). This sentence follows Rosario’s guilty plea to charges related to the January 2022 robbery.
Rosario, along with his accomplice Alexander Madera, 21, entered the drug dealer’s Guilderland residence with dangerous weapons. Rosario was armed with a pistol, while Madera carried a rifle. The two men forced their way into the home, where Madera threatened the dealer and stole $172.
During the robbery, another resident of the home woke up and saw Rosario brandishing the gun. A confrontation ensued between the resident and the robbers, leading to Rosario and Madera being disarmed and restrained by the people in the house. The police soon arrived at the scene and took the robbers into custody.
