Albany Tragedy: Teen Faces 25 Years in Prison for Barbershop Shooting!

A 19-year-old named Timmoure Miller from Clifton Park has admitted to his role in last year’s tragic barbershop shooting in Albany.

He pleaded guilty to a charge of manslaughter for his involvement in the incident that left one person dead and two others injured at the Village Barber & Beauty shop.

The shooting happened on Saturday, May 13, 2023, when a gunman started firing outside the barbershop on 2nd Avenue.

The sudden attack led to the death of a man and injuries to two others, including a young boy. This violent event left the Albany community in shock as they mourned the senseless loss of life.

A few months later, in October 2023, Albany Police announced the arrest of Timmoure Miller.

He was taken into custody for his connection to the shooting, facing serious charges, including murder in the second degree and criminal facilitation.

This arrest came as a relief to the community, hoping for justice for the victims affected by this tragedy.

During the attack, 47-year-old Tyrone Staley, one of the barbers at Village Barber & Beauty, was hit by gunfire.

He was shot in both the torso and shoulder. Sadly, despite being rushed to the hospital for treatment, Staley couldn’t survive his injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Authorities also revealed that another person, Dejoune Smith, was involved in the shooting. Smith faced his own set of charges, including murder, two counts of attempted murder, and weapons offenses.

The police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to this violent act to ensure all responsible parties are held accountable.

For his role in the tragic event, Miller is now looking at a long sentence. He faces up to 25 years in state prison, followed by an additional five years of post-release supervision.

The court’s decision marks a significant moment in the case, bringing some closure to the community and the victims’ families.

The Village Barber & Beauty shooting is a stark reminder of the impact of violence on communities.

While justice is being served in this case, the pain and loss felt by those who knew and loved Tyrone Staley will linger.
