Bennington Man Faces $50,000 Bail After Alleged Drunk Driving and Weapon Charges!
A 27-year-old man from Bennington, Vermont, faces multiple charges after allegedly driving under the influence and causing two crashes in New York.
State Police reported that on November 10 at around 3:30 p.m., they received a call about a vehicle that had struck a fence post on Flensburg Drive in Pittstown and then left the scene.
The driver, identified as Conrad A. Graham, reportedly continued driving after hitting the fence post and soon after colliding with a utility pole on Melrose Valley Falls Road in Schaghticoke.
EMS personnel arrived at the scene to evaluate Graham, who was later arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) along with other traffic violations. During the investigation, police discovered a loaded handgun and a high-capacity magazine in his vehicle.
According to the source, Additional charges were filed against Graham, including criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of certain types of ammunition-feeding devices.
Subsequently, he was arraigned in Schaghticoke Town Court and sent to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility. Bail was set at $50,000 cash or $50,000 bond.
The case raises significant concerns about road safety, impaired driving, and firearm possession.
Authorities are emphasizing the importance of responsible driving, especially as the holiday season approaches, a time known for increased travel and, unfortunately, an uptick in incidents related to impaired driving.
