BOYFRIEND SHOT GIRLFRIEND IN HEAD While She Was Driving, Then Ignored Her Children After Car Crash; Convicted
Mandako, a 31-year-old boyfriend, was found guilty of first-degree murder and other charges and now faces 53 years to life in jail for the killing of his girlfriend, CarIiena, who was 23 years old.
Prosecutors said the defendant shot his partner twice in the head while she was driving the car with her four children, ages 2 to 6, in the back. The defendant was in the passenger seat when he committed the crime.
The investigation began four years ago after a 911 caller informed the operator of guns fired in the home. When cops arrived at the location, they learned that someone had fired numerous bullets inside the house.
The responding cops then spoke with a witness, who stated that the victim had entered her vehicle with her children. The defendant then got into the passenger seat before the car sped away.

The witness reportedly told investigators that the defendant and his girlfriend were fighting before leaving the vehicle. Shortly later, a 911 caller informed the dispatcher that someone fired shots in a vehicle, which crashed into the river. The responding cops learned that two unidentified individuals witnessed the collision and dived into the river to rescue the passengers.

They reportedly retrieved the four children and moved the woman’s body, only for first responders to discover that she had been shot twice in the head. According to witnesses, the defendant ‘was standing beside the automobile not doing anything to aid’.
The woman’s eldest child told investigators that their mother’s boyfriend allegedly shot her before the automobile crash. The defendant, 31, will be sentenced in September, according to source.
