Breaking: Buffalo Man Arrested After Violent Domestic Dispute!

A Buffalo man has been arrested after an alleged domestic assault on Monday, October 21, according to the Buffalo Police Department. The arrest was made in connection with a domestic violence incident that occurred on Stevens Avenue around 10:30 p.m.

The suspect, Jaquan Williams, 30, of Buffalo, was taken into custody on Monday following the incident.

Police responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence further down Stevens Avenue, where they spoke with a woman who claimed she had been assaulted by Williams. She told officers that what began as a verbal argument quickly turned physical.

According to the woman’s statement, Williams became violent and threw her 8-month-old baby onto a couch. He then attacked the woman, striking her multiple times with closed fists and choking her until she lost consciousness.

The victim also said that Williams took her phone to prevent her from calling 911 for help.

Despite this, the woman managed to escape the house with her two children and ran down the street to call the police. By the time officers arrived, Williams had fled the scene in his car.

Police later located Williams’ vehicle near his home on Fulton Street. While officers were preparing to impound the car, Williams returned to the area and was arrested without incident.

The victim was treated on-site by emergency responders, although no further information is available about the baby that was reportedly thrown during the altercation.

Below is the full press release with additional details on the case.

  • One felony count of aggravated criminal contempt
  • One misdemeanor count of assault
  • One misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child
  • One misdemeanor count of criminal mischief
