Breaking: Person Struck by Subway Train in Manhattan, Major MTA Delays!
MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A subway accident in Manhattan caused major delays on Tuesday when a person was struck by a train.
The incident took place on the Nos. 2 and 3 subway lines, which were temporarily suspended due to the emergency.
According to the FDNY, the person fell onto the tracks near the 125th Street subway station at around 8:15 a.m. The individual was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital in Manhattan. The exact condition of the person involved has not been made public yet.
As a result of the accident, there was no service on the Nos. 2 and 3 subway lines between Harlem-148th Street/149th Street–Grand Concourse and 96th Street.
To help manage the situation, southbound No. 2 trains operated on the No. 5 line from 149th Street–Grand Concourse to Nevins Street.
Meanwhile, some northbound No. 3 trains ended their route at 137th Street-City College, connecting with the No. 1 line.
Although train service on the Nos. 2 and 3 lines has now resumed, riders can expect delays in both directions. Additionally, No. 1 trains are also experiencing delays due to the disruption.
The MTA has advised commuters to allow for extra travel time as service gradually returns to normal. Officials continue to investigate the incident and have asked passengers to stay alert for any further updates.
