Carjacking Suspect Trapped in Tool Shed After Fleeing on George Washington Bridge!

A carjacking attempt on the George Washington Bridge ended with the arrest of one suspect who got trapped inside a tool shed after fleeing the scene, Port Authority police reported on Tuesday.

The incident occurred on Saturday night around 8:30 p.m. when a car, carrying two men, collided with a woman’s vehicle as she was driving across the Hudson River bridge into Manhattan.

After the crash, the two suspects stopped their car in the middle of the bridge and rushed over to the woman’s car.

They tried to open the doors, but the woman, scared for her safety, quickly locked them. One of the suspects was holding a gun and demanded that the woman unlock the doors, according to Port Authority police sources.

Despite the threat, the woman remained unharmed as the two men failed to get inside her car. They then fled the scene, with one of the suspects tossing a backpack off the bridge while escaping.

Following the failed carjacking, Port Authority police quickly responded and managed to track down suspect Frederick Antonio Castillo on the New Jersey side of the bridge.

Authorities said Castillo accidentally trapped himself inside a nearby construction shed as he tried to escape.

Police also recovered a handgun with an extended clip and hollow-point bullets, which the suspects had discarded while fleeing.

Castillo was arrested and charged with attempted robbery, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a high-capacity magazine, and possession of hollow-point ammunition.

As of Tuesday, Castillo’s accomplice remains at large.
