Clearwater Suspect Admits to Stabbing Roommate Twice, Faces Attempted Murder Charges!
On Saturday, October 19, 2024, a violent incident took place in Clearwater, Florida, where a 50-year-old man named Jeremiah Jenkins was arrested for attempted murder.
The attack happened at a shared residence located in the 1400 block of Ft. Harrison Avenue N.
According to the arrest affidavit, Jenkins allegedly used a small paring knife to stab his roommate in the neck.
The attack caused serious injuries, leaving the victim with deep cuts. A struggle followed, as the victim tried to defend himself, but Jenkins managed to stab him again in the same area.
After the attack, Jenkins himself called 911 to report what had happened. He openly admitted to the stabbing while speaking to dispatchers.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and the victim was flown by air ambulance to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, where he was treated for life-threatening injuries. Jenkins was also taken to the hospital for medical evaluation.
In a statement to the police, Jenkins said that he had been using the knife to cut tuna just before the incident, but he couldn’t explain why he suddenly attacked his roommate.
He also mentioned that he wanted the victim to be “at peace,” and there had been no argument or confrontation leading up to the stabbing.
Upon further investigation, authorities discovered that this was not Jenkins’ first encounter with the law.

He had been charged with attempted murder in West Virginia by the Richmond Police Department back in September 1992. However, that charge was later reduced to aggravated battery.
As of now, Jenkins is still in custody, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
