Collier County Man Sentenced to Life in Prison for Child Molestation After 2021 Arrest Following Victim’s Brave Disclosure

A guy from Collier County has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life behind bars for the crime of child molestation.

A punishment was handed down to Matthew Zink, who is 49 years old, according to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

Initially, he was taken into custody on June 9, 2021, following the disclosure of the sexual abuse by the affected individual.

The victim disclosed to a member of their family that Zink had sexually assaulted them, which prompted the investigation to get underway.

Following that, the family member informed a Youth Relations deputy who worked at the elementary school where the victim attended.

After sexually abusing the kid, Zink allegedly had the victim “pinky promise” that they would not tell anybody about it, and he even purchased toys for the youngster after the violence had occurred.

On June 21 of this year, a jury in Collier County convicted Zink guilty of sexually assaulting a child who was under the age of 12 and engaging in indecent and lascivious behavior.

Sheriff Kevin Rambosk shared his thoughts on the matter, saying, “This was a fantastic and collaborative effort between our Special Response Bureau, our Forensic Services Bureau, and the State Attorney’s Office to ensure that a predator can never harm another child again.”
