Daughter Accused of SHOOTING MAN IN HEAD While Father Was on Vacation, Claims She ‘Couldn’t Take It’ Anymore

A 28-year-old woman in Oklahoma has been detained and accused of groping two children at a public pool. She allegedly told police that she only grabbed the children in an attempt to save herself from drowning. Kayla R. Lena was apprehended and charged with two counts of lewd or indecent acts with a minor under the age of 16, according to court documents reviewed by Law&Crime.

On June 30, 2024, it is alleged that Lena “knowingly and intentionally looked upon, touched, mauled, or felt the body or private parts” of two boys, aged 12 and 13, “in a lewd and lascivious manner calculated to arouse and excite,” as reported in court documents filed in the District Court of Oklahoma County.

The Eagle Harbor Aquatic Center, located in the 4500 block of 1/2 SE 15th Street, approximately 6 miles east of Oklahoma City, is the site of the purported incident.

Lena inappropriately touched and grabbed the victims while “moaning” and “calling [the boys] Daddy,” according to the criminal information.

In a news briefing posted online by Oklahoma City Fox affiliate KOKH, Del City Police Public Information Officer Maj. Brad Cowden stated that the victims reported that the suspect grabbed them inappropriately, made several inappropriate statements to them, and at one point attempted to remove some of their clothing, exposing them to the public.

According to authorities, the testimonies of the two victims and other witnesses at the pool suggest that Lena had targeted the same two victims on multiple occasions over several days.

“The victims reported that the incident occurred on multiple occasions, over several days, involving the same suspect and victims. However, there were no witnesses to the previous occurrences. It was reported on that day, and we had a significant number of witnesses present at the time,” he stated.

According to Oklahoma City CBS affiliate KWTV, the lifeguards who were on duty at the time reported to the police that Lena was observed “touching the victims in the groin and buttocks” and following them around the pool. The lifeguards promptly removed Lena from the facility, where she was discovered by the authorities who responded to a 911 call from the victims.

Lena initially denied any wrongdoing in the body camera footage of the arrest that was posted by KWTV. However, she later inquired about the possibility of calling her grandmother.

Cowden stated, “She denied engaging in any of the activities that had been observed by others or that were purported to have taken place.” “She did mention at one point that she did grab one of the juveniles, but she did so because she believed she was drowning and intended to use the juvenile to help her rise.”

However, Cowden stated that the narrative Lena presented to the police “did not correspond with any of the narratives provided by the victims or the narratives of the witnesses.”

Instead of a $100,000 bond, Lena was lodged in the Oklahoma County Jail. According to online records, she was no longer in detention as of Thursday.
