Deadly Murray Hill Fire Takes the Life of a Resident, Investigation Underway!
A deadly fire in Murray Hill early yesterday morning took the life of a man in his 40s. The blaze broke out at a five-story building located on Third Avenue, close to East 38th and 39th Streets.
It started just before 6:30 a.m., and emergency teams responded quickly to control the situation.
About 60 firefighters and emergency medical services (EMS) personnel arrived at the scene to tackle the fire that spread through parts of the building. Videos taken by the Citizen App showed thick smoke billowing from the structure as the fire continued to rage.
FDNY officials managed to get the fire under control in around 40 minutes. However, the incident turned tragic when a 40-year-old man was found unconscious inside the building by the responding police officers. The man was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he later died due to severe injuries caused by the fire.
The authorities have not yet released the man’s name, as they are waiting to notify his family. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, and fire marshals are working carefully to determine how it started. The local community, shaken by the early morning incident, is still processing the loss.
Although no official conclusions have been made, it could take some time for fire investigators to finalize their findings.
