Explosive Arrest: Mojave Man’s Booby Traps Uncovered After Shotgun Fire!

A 57-year-old man from Mojave, California, was arrested early Wednesday morning after an incident involving the discharge of a shotgun.

This led to the discovery of multiple firearms and dangerous “booby traps” in his home, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO).

Deputies responded to a call at around 2:50 a.m. on October 16 in the 16000 block of Highway 14 in Mojave. Upon arrival, they were informed that the suspect, Michael Tipple, had allegedly fired a shotgun.

Following this information, authorities obtained a search warrant to inspect Tipple’s residence.

What they found inside was alarming. In addition to multiple loaded firearms, deputies discovered high-capacity magazines and an un-serialized AR-15 rifle.

One of the more concerning elements of the investigation was the presence of “booby traps” within the home.

These traps were rigged with explosives that could detonate if disturbed, posing a serious threat to anyone entering the premises without caution.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that these explosives were designed to be triggered by movement, making them particularly dangerous.

The presence of such devices added another layer of concern to an already volatile situation.

Further investigation revealed that Tipple was also linked to a separate shooting that had occurred earlier in Mojave.

Although the details of this additional incident have not been fully released, it has contributed to the mounting charges against him.

Tipple was arrested and taken to the KCSO Lerdo Detention Facility, where he faces multiple charges related to the possession of firearms and explosives.

The charges include possessing high-capacity magazines and firearms without proper serialization, both of which are significant violations of California’s strict gun laws.

This case highlights the dangers of illegal weapons and explosive devices, which not only pose a risk to law enforcement but also to the surrounding community.

The discovery of “booby traps” is especially concerning, as these types of devices can cause serious harm or even death to anyone who unknowingly triggers them.

The KCSO has emphasized the importance of public safety in cases like this and will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding both the shotgun discharge and the separate shooting incident.

It is still unclear what led to the initial discharge of the shotgun, but the discovery of the arsenal in Tipple’s home has raised significant concerns about the level of threat he may have posed to others.

Michael Tipple remains in custody, and further legal proceedings will determine the full extent of the charges he faces.
