Five Suspects Identified in Violent Dick’s House of Sport Robbery Incident!

In a troubling incident at Dick’s House of Sport, several suspects involved in a violent robbery are now linked to a shooting near Frederick and Central avenues. On Wednesday morning, investigators updated the public on their findings.

The suspects are accused of attacking a father and son with baseball bats in order to steal their new Nike Air Jordan sneakers. Fortunately, both victims are expected to recover from their injuries.

Police have identified and charged or are preparing to charge six out of the eight individuals involved. The search continues for the remaining two suspects.

According to authorities, the suspects initially stole a pair of Air Jordans from a family inside the store. They used baseball bats, which they had taken from the store’s display racks, to carry out the attack.

The incident also involved a shooting connected to a Facebook marketplace transaction that went wrong. Police report that the shooting was part of the robbery scheme to obtain the sneakers.

Colonie Police Chief James Gerace expressed disbelief at the extreme actions of the suspects. “I’m baffled, like probably all of you are, that people would be so brazen to commit these acts that they’d be willing to shoot and strike individuals with baseball bats overshoes,” Gerace said.

The community played a crucial role in the investigation, providing tips that helped police make significant progress. Gerace praised the public for their vigilance, which was instrumental in solving the case.

“Our detectives worked around the clock, sometimes for over 24 hours without sleep, attempting to take the ball that was handed off from our citizens and put it into the end zone and bring these suspects to justice,” Gerace added.
