Florida Police Arrested the Boyfriend of A Psychologist Who Is Suspected of Selling a 15-Year-Old Girl!

Jason Mojica, a 46-year-old man, was officially arrested on Tuesday on three felony charges. When the new charges were brought against him, he was already in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center for an unrelated matter. The police report identifies him as the boyfriend of Maria Ximena Duarte, a 45-year-old psychologist from North Miami, who was arrested earlier in the week.

Duarte, a mental health counselor, allegedly met the 15-year-old victim at the pool of the Aloft Miami Dadeland Hotel on N. Kendall Drive. The incident began when the teenager, who was walking her dog, encountered Duarte. The psychologist quickly befriended the girl, claiming to share similar life experiences. This initial contact would later lead to a series of harrowing events.

The police report describes how Duarte gained the victim’s trust by offering her a marijuana cigarette, though the teenager declined. Duarte also offered to buy alcoholic drinks from the hotel’s bar, which the victim also refused. Later that evening, Duarte invited the teenager back to her hotel room. The next day, the girl visited Duarte’s room, where things took a disturbing turn.

Duarte began taking pictures of the teenager and sent them to a man named Pablo, falsely claiming the girl was 21 years old and willing to have sex.

The victim resisted, but Duarte continued to pressure her. The situation escalated when Pablo arrived at the hotel room, and Duarte engaged in sexual activity with him in front of the teenager. Duarte even instructed the girl to record the encounter under the guise of teaching her.

As the situation worsened, Mojica, known to the victim only as “Jason,” entered the room. Duarte attempted to leave the girl alone with Mojica, but the victim expressed her discomfort. Despite this, Duarte pushed the girl back inside the room and told her to “make Jason feel good” before leaving.

The victim sought refuge in the bathroom, trying to avoid the situation by playing on her cell phone. However, when she eventually came out, she found Mojica exposing himself to her and pressuring her to engage in sexual acts. When the girl refused, Mojica forcibly made her perform a sex act, adding another traumatic layer to the already horrifying experience.

The victim later revealed that Duarte had a habit of exchanging sex for drugs to satisfy her addictions. Duarte would reportedly offer the victim marijuana to lure her back to the hotel for these abusive encounters. The girl eventually reported the incident to the police, leading to Duarte’s arrest.

Duarte appeared in court on Monday, facing several serious charges, including human trafficking, lewd and lascivious exhibition on a child under 16, lewd and lascivious battery, and interference with custody. During her court appearance, Duarte pleaded for leniency, claiming she was innocent and concerned about losing her professional license and career.

The police used investigative techniques to identify Mojica, who is homeless. The victim was able to identify him from a photograph as the person involved in the assault.

Mojica now faces charges of sexual battery on a minor, lewd, and lascivious battery and interference with custody. As of Wednesday, both Duarte and Mojica remain in custody at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
