Fresno Man Charged With Murder After Fatal FATAL BEATING AND STABBING of Ex-girlfriend’s New Partner

A Fresno man is reportedly charged with murder and attempted murder after allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend and her new partner. According to a press release, officers responded to a complaint of a disturbance at East Balch Avenue and South Callish Avenue on Monday afternoon, July 29. While on their way, officers discovered that someone at the location had been stabbed.

Officers arrived on the scene and discovered a male victim, 26-year-old Devin McNew, on the ground with serious blunt-force trauma and many stab wounds.

A 26-year-old lady was also discovered at the site, with blunt-force trauma to her skull.

A third person, Jonathan Navarro, 26, was discovered at the site with a laceration on his wrist. According to investigators, the laceration was caused by the victim himself.

All three were transported to a nearby medical institution. McNew finally died as a result of his injuries.

Both the female victim and Navarro were treated and are likely to live.

Investigators quickly determined that Navarro and the female victim had recently terminated a ten-year relationship and that the victim and her new boyfriend, McNew, had come to the scene of the attack to drop off some of Navarro’s possessions.

At some point, Navarro and McNew got into a confrontation, and Navarro allegedly stabbed McNew several times. Navarro also allegedly hit McNew and the female victim numerous times with a garden shovel.

After being discharged from the hospital, Navarro is anticipated to be booked into the Fresno County Jail on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, according to authorities.
