Grieving Father of NYC Subway Surfer Issues Emotional Warning to Kids: “Think About the Consequences”!

A grieving father, devastated by the loss of his 13-year-old son in a tragic subway surfing accident, made an impassioned appeal to other kids on Monday, urging them to reconsider the dangerous stunt.

The emotional plea comes just days after another child also lost her life while attempting the same risky activity in New York City.

Adolfo Sanabria, whose teenage son Adolfo Sorzano died subway surfing in Queens last week, spoke out in the wake of these heartbreaking events.

The boy’s tragic death occurred when he climbed onto the top of a moving train, a stunt that has become increasingly popular through social media challenges, only to lose his life in the dangerous thrill-seeking attempt.

“Please don’t ride [atop] the subway. Please think about the pain it will cause your parents,” Sanabria said during an interview with The New York Post.

His voice was heavy with grief as he reflected on the life of his son, describing him as a well-mannered and compassionate child.

“Adolfo was a good boy, he was a beautiful boy. An obedient, kind, and honest boy,” Sanabria shared, emphasizing his son’s positive qualities and the joy he brought to the family.

The father, still reeling from the loss, urged kids to pause and consider the long-term consequences of their actions before succumbing to the dangerous temptation of subway surfing, particularly when fueled by social media challenges.

“When you’re in that moment, that moment of adrenaline, please think about the consequences,” he implored, recognizing that peer pressure and the allure of social media dares can sometimes cloud young people’s judgment.

Sanabria’s heartfelt plea comes as subway surfing incidents have been on the rise, with some young people influenced by viral videos showing the illegal and hazardous activity.

Tragically, Sanabria is now one of several parents grappling with the devastating impact of these stunts gone wrong.

His message to other children was clear and urgent: “There are so many other ways to have fun. Please don’t get carried away by a social media challenge.”

As more kids become exposed to potentially dangerous behaviors online, Sanabria highlighted the importance of personal responsibility, reminding kids that they have the power to make their own decisions, regardless of outside pressures. “You have autonomy,” he said. “You can say no to your friends.”

The father’s emotional call for caution serves as a poignant reminder of the potential dangers that accompany thrill-seeking activities and social media-driven challenges. He hopes that his message will resonate with young people and prevent further tragedies like the one that claimed his son’s life.
