Harlem Robbery: NYPD Officer Assaulted by Suspect After Chain Snatching!

A New York City police officer is recovering after being punched in the face by a robbery suspect. The incident occurred early Saturday morning as police were on the lookout for a suspect wanted for a robbery near Lenox Avenue and 125th Street in Harlem.

Around 1 a.m., the suspect, along with another man, had been inside a check-cashing business. During the robbery, the suspect managed to snatch a chain from a man’s neck. As he left the store, the suspect was confronted by a female police officer.

In a sudden act of violence, the suspect punched the officer in the face and quickly fled the scene. The attack prompted a large police response, with officers swarming the area in search of the suspect.

The search paid off when officers located the suspect hiding under a car on 126th Street, just one block away from the robbery scene. He was taken into custody, and charges against him are currently pending.
